NEWSREADER: Traditional owners have labelled the Northern Territory's uranium mine operators as cowboys for releasing their own report into a huge toxic spill at Ranger last December.
Mark di Stefano reports.
REPORTER: The findings of the ERA investigation were released at the stock exchange today and blamed corroded rubber for the massive spill. Justin O'Brien from the Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation says the company has been pushing ahead with its own investigation, instead of cooperating with the government appointed task force.
JUSTIN O'BRIEN: The ERA like a Han Solo, operating outside regulatory oversight.
REPORTER: The company's Andrea Scott says ERA is continuing to work with the independent investigation.
ANDREA SCOTT: Also working with the government-appointed task forces. They go through their investigation, which is obviously independent.
REPORTER: Traditional owners say the Federal Government has not made the investigation a priority.
